Quick answer
World Children's Day is on Friday 20 November 2026. Schools and nurseries in Dubai can mark it with a workshop or an entertainment morning, and families with a playdate. La Folie, the Dubai kids entertainment company, runs both. On 20 November only, for 24 hours, La Folie also sells "Buy now, use later" vouchers at 10% off for playdates, birthdays, Child Development and camps, valid until 20 November 2027.
What is World Children's Day, and when is it in 2026?
World Children's Day is the United Nations day for children, held every year on 20 November. It marks the date the UN adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in 1989: every child's right to play, to learn, to be safe and to be heard.
In 2026 it falls on a Friday. It is not the same as Emirati Children's Day, which the UAE marks on 15 March.
We are La Folie, founded in Dubai in 2017 and one of the UAE's top-rated kids events companies: ★ 5.0 from 184 Google reviews and 700+ events a year.
How can a school or nursery in Dubai celebrate World Children's Day?
Give the children the microphone, then give them something to do with their hands. Our favourite formats for schools and nurseries:
- A workshop in class: crafts, sensory, science or art, for ages 2 to 13, and every child takes home something they made. See our kids workshops.
- An entertainment morning: games, dance and challenges led by La Folie coaches, with mixed-age teams so older children look after younger ones.
- A children's assembly, run by the pupils themselves, with a short live show to finish.
La Folie also runs fun days, activations and after-school clubs for schools and nurseries across Dubai. Ask us on WhatsApp for a quote, or see our corporate and schools page.
How do I host a World Children's Day playdate in Dubai?
Invite a few friends over the weekend of 21 and 22 November and let a coach run the games while you enjoy a coffee with the other parents.
A hosted La Folie playdate is one flat group price for 6 to 25 children, at your home or in your venue: AED 1,200 + VAT for 60 minutes or AED 1,850 + VAT for 90 minutes. From 16 children, a second entertainer joins for AED 800 + VAT.
How can we celebrate at home?
Let the children lead. Five easy ideas for ages 3 to 12:
- Kids in charge for an afternoon: they choose the menu, the music and the games.
- A family sports hour: relay races, a cushion obstacle course, "coach says".
- Cook together: mini pizzas or fruit skewers, with one job for every child.
- A letter to open next year, on World Children's Day 2027.
- Give one, keep one: each child picks a toy or a book to pass on to another child.
